If you obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments which I command you this day, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth . . . and the Lord will make you abound in prosperity. . . . But if you will not obey the voice of the Lord your God or be careful to do that which I command you this day, then all these curses will come upon you and overtake you. . . .
