Sources of Pollution

One of the tragedies I have noticed during a life of going hither and yon is that particularly lovely places are almost invariably colonized by perverts or barbarians. (Think of the Pacific Northwest, or the “American side” of Niagara Falls—three cheers for the Canadians on this.) In this trait the uglifiers identify with their father the devil, who did it originally with a world that was made good and beautiful.
