Rachel Fulton Brown is Associate Professor of History at The University of Chicago. Research and teaching specialties include: History of Christianity; Medieval European Cultural, Religious, and Intellectual History; Liturgy and Prayer; Devotion to the Virgin Mary; Scriptural Exegesis and Hermeneutics; Subcreation and the Works of J.R.R. Tolkien. She is the author of Mary and the Art of Prayer: The Hours of the Virgin in Medieval Christian Life and Thought (Columbia University Press).
