David S. Dockery is the president of Trinity International University in Deerfi eld, Illinois; he served for 18 years as president of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas system. He is the author or editor of 35 books, including Renewing Minds and Faith and Learning, and he serves as the New Testament editor for the New American Commentary series, and general editor for Crossway’s series on Reclaiming the Christian Intellectual Tradition and the forthcoming Holman Worldview Study Bible. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, he and his wife Lanese have three married sons and six grandchildren.
