Godless Analysis
How can anyone recognize the working of Almighty God with his fellow men unless he understands their lives from the very beginning as a history of this working? How could one counsel another to do or not to do something in the interest of his soul without pointing to the prior work of God in that soul, of obedience or disobedience to the Living Voice which every man knows? It would, I think, be difficult. Thus the wisdom and folly of psychoanalysis: the history of the psychic life of the individual is sought to advance therapeutic understanding, but the principal Actor in the Dialogue that makes and delivers a living soul is treated as an obstructing illusion.
